No-exam life insurance
Learn who qualifies for rapid decision-making, the process involved, and what happens if you don't meet the criteria.
Many insurers now offer fast-track underwriting: applicants within certain age and coverage limits get decisions based on application answers, prescription records, driving history and other information—no medical exam required. Some approvals arrive same-day. Each quote here notes whether that carrier requires, may request, or skips the exam.
What it changes
Expedited underwriting doesn't skip the verification process. Carriers check your answers, and a policy issued on wrong information can be disputed for two years. If the carrier has data questions, they may order an exam or blood work; you decide then whether to continue.
Who tends to qualify
Typically applies to people under approximately 60 seeking amounts within the carrier's expedited underwriting ceiling, with no major health issues and no tobacco use in the past year or more. Some carriers accept recent doctor visits with lab results instead of requiring their own exam.
If an exam is needed, plan for a 20 to 30-minute visit by a paramedic at your location in the La Mesa area—free of charge. For healthy applicants, exam findings often lead to a better rate level, so it's not necessarily a drawback.
